The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada has launched a nationwide campaign titled “Fast With Muslims”. This campaign is a great opportunity for fellow Canadians to learn more about the beautiful month of Ramadan. During Ramadan, more than a billion Muslims across the world partake in a 30-day spiritual journey of fasting. Muslims refrain from eating or drinking anything from sunrise to sunset.
The campaign allows Canadians to participate with their fellow Muslim friends and neighbours in the month of Ramadan and experience the joys of iftaar dinners along with understanding the importance of fasting.
This national campaign also gives Canadians an opportunity to experience how to start, keep and break a fast, while learning why fasting during Ramadan is a core tenet of Islam. There will also be “Iftaar Dinners” that will be held in every major city across Canada and more information can be seen on the events page.
Part of the campaign is the “Ramadan Challenge”, in which those who participate can challenge their friends/family/coworkers to also fast for a day. They are encouraged to join the conversation on social media by following us on Twitter @FastWithMuslims.
Through its dozens of chapters across Canada, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at has also set up “Iftaar Dinners” for Canadians to join and experience what it’s like to break the fast at sunset. This is a great way to participate in this joyous occasion of fasting with Muslim friends and neighbours. More information for the Iftaar dinners can be seen on the events page.
